McCartney to Open Rock in Rio Lisbon

The transatlantically transplanted megafestival Rock in Rio has signed up aging ex-Beatle Paul McCartney. He will join rock and pop stars like Guns n' Roses, Peter Gabriel, Alejandro Sanz and Britney Spears, as well as Brazilian performers of the stature of Charlie Brown Jr. or musician-turned-politican Gilberto Gil.
An extra day has had to be added to the festival to fit McCartney in. This means Rock in Rio will now run Friday to Sunday of May 28 to 30 and June 4 to 6. The entrance charge for the festival is 53 euros a day, and tickets went on sale today, March 1.
