At last, an optimistic opinion. The Australian Herald Sun thinks that Greece will be ready for the Athens Olympics this summer. Click here for original story.
Many of the facilities in preparation are already finished. "The Markopoulo Equestrian Centre, for instance, has met all of consultant Wayne Roycroft's recommendations, and more, while the Agios Kosmas Sailing Centre is astonishing." The aquatic centre is near completion, and the tennis centre, velodrome and weightlifting facilities are either ready or well advanced. The Herald Sun is emphatic: the Games will be "visually stunning" and, though they may not "match the perfection of Sydney," will "easily surpass Atlanta in 1996." And Barcelona?
